
Dr. Panyushkina specializes in dendroarchaeology and dendroclimatology, Holocene climate change and Central Asian archaeology. She has held an appointment with the Tree-Ring Lab since 2001. Panyushkina received her Ph.D. in Forest Ecology from the Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Science in 1997. She is a Fulbright awardee from U.S. State Department and has served on over dozen research projects in the United States, Russia and Kazakhstan. The National Science Foundation, the National Geographic Society and the CRDF Global have funded her research. Current Research Projects: * Flickering climate of Great Lakes region during transition from the Late Pleistocene glaciation to the Holocene * Landscape and prehistoric farming and pastoral communities in Central Asia * Terrestrial records of Late Pleistocene -MIS 3 paleoenvironment * Calendar chronology of Siberian Scythians (Iron Age) and Andronovo community (Bronze Age) in Eurasian Steppe
