songbirdsongs is a work from Pulitzer Prize winning composer John Luther Adams. Adams self- describes his music as “a lifelong search for home—an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and remember our place within the larger community of life on earth.” songbirdsongs scored for various percussion instruments and two piccolos extends this invitation by setting various bird songs and atmospheric textures in a way that does not merely evoke a place but becomes one of its own. For this performance Malleus will be joined by flutists Cassandra Gunn and Alexis Houchin.
Tickets are free and available here.
