archaeological wood and woodland landscapes

Despite the abundance of Iberian cultural heritage made of wood, dendroarchaeology in the Western Mediterranean is still an underrepresented discipline. Our research on millennia-old living trees, medieval mosques turned to catholic temples and shipwrecks from different periods has revealed crucial implications for the development of dendroarchaeology in this area. In this presentation I will take you on a journey through time and cultures in the light of the rich Iberian cultural and natural heritage and will present you the peculiarities of this territory from a dendroarchaeological perspective.
