The students participating in the Dendroecology 2014 summer pre-session course will be making presentations relating to two research questions that they are trying to address with some collections from the Catalinas:
a) Does crown damage from fire affect ring growth, and
b) has there been a change in species composition following fire exclusion in what now is a mixed-conifer forest.
Don't expect published results, but it should be interesting.
