Arizona Daily Star columnist Tom Beal recently highlighted an image showing A.E. Douglass, the pioneer of dendrochronology, at the center of a gathering that includes other noteables such as Emil Haury and Harold Colton, sitting under the ponderosa pines at what will later become the site of the Museum of Northern Arizona. Douglass' successors continue to work amidst ponderosa pines, but have relaxed the early dress code!
