Visiting Scholar

I am Mehvish Majeed, a Ph.D. candidate in Geography and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno under Prof. Dr. Adam Csank supervision. I am specializing in paleoclimatology using tree rings, integrating isotopes, quantitative wood anatomy and blue intensity to look into Earth climate history. My dissertation topic is "Multi-Proxy Dendroecological Reconstructions of Growth, Physiology, and Climate Sensitivity Across Species and Biogeographic Regions" where the first chapter is "Climate Sensitivity and Phenological Timing of Growth and Water-Use Physiology in Riparian Aspen: A Multi-Proxy, Multi-Scale Approach", second chapter "Physiological and Structural Indicators of Climate Vulnerability in Whitebark Pine at Treeline Ecotones in the Western Great Basin" and the third chapter is "Drought Legacies and Latewood Density Variability in Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) from Northeast Turkey: A Blue Intensity Perspective".
