Assistant Research Professor
I am a dendroarchaeologist focused on North America. I collaborate with scholars, resource managers, as well as tribal governments and communities to develop tree-ring-based chronologies for research and heritage preservation. I supervise the Southwestern Dendroarchaeological Lab (https://ltrr.arizona.edu/content/southwestern-dendroarchaeology) at the LTRR that provides fee-for-service dendrochronological dating on archaeological or historical wood.
My recent research has focused on:
- Understanding past institutions through the chronological analysis of monumental architecture in the archaeological record
- High-precision dating and chronological modeling of indigenous places during the early-Colonial period
- Developing and applying dendrochronological methods for desert tree species and desert environments to extend high-resolution tree-ring-based chronologies beyond the geographical range of traditional ring-width crossdating
